Knowing your audience

Looking ahead to the poster project, I wanted to share a poster I thought sent its message pretty efficiently. It pays attention to audience when constructing a design. For a “Get Out the Vote” campaign that communicates with the 18 – 24 year old demographic, frequently a group with low turn-out at the polls, this poster does well to recast voting as a sexy action. Cool and sexy help build the identity profile of the young voter. The design team behind this poster used this knowledge of their audience to talk directly to them, giving greater likelihood that the poster will inspire action among young voters.
